More on IMCI
We’re all familiar with Microsoft and Google.. these are huge names!
A lot of people aren’t too familiar with VMare though, which is truly just as huge in my opinion.
IMCI’s involvement in virtualization could be monstrous one day! If IMCI starts landing more gov. contracts it may not stay at these levels for long!
VMware is the leader in so-called virtual machine software and trades under the name VMW for nearly $40 a share!
This is the kind of stuff that allows a computer to run two or more operating systems at once which is a great way for companies to reduce costs on their IT infrastructure.
IMCI just announced yesterday that it has achieved Microsoft’s Virtualization Solutions Competency as part of its participation in the Microsoft Gold Certified Partner program!
IMCI realizes that it can be very costly to keep a company organized. Most companies often look to find ways to save money where ever they can. A great place to save is on their IT expenses.
IMCI does this through virtualization.
Virtualization is like a life saver for businesses and provides economic benefits by consolidating servers.
Federal government organizations increasingly are incorporating virtualization to consolidate IT resources.
This represents a very huge and vital market for IMCI!
"Virtualization can help government organizations reduce energy and space requirements, often by as much as 50%," said Andi Mann, vice president of research for Enterprise Management Associates, Inc.
IMCI recently announced that they will provide virtualization management services to the federal, state and local IT services sector using Hyper9’s Virtualization Optimization Suite(TM) (VOS) solution.
The Hyper9-IMCI collaboration combines best practices and leading-edge technology to give IT managers and administrators better business insights into their virtual infrastructure, and help government and commercial clients get more out of their virtualization investments.
Virtualization technology enables organizations to shrink the size of their IT footprint the benefits of which include reduced capital and operating costs, improved continuity of operations and network security, and better utilization of computing resources, said Bill Kennedy, CEO of Hyper9.
Backed by IMCI’s management team’s extensive experience with Federal operations, they have secured a number of contracts servicing several large agencies of the Federal government, including the Department of Homeland Security.
IMCI has identified several segments of the Federal IT services market that they believe currently have the greatest and most immediate needs.
IMCI provides a complete range of virtualization services, including capacity planning and assessment, server consolidation, desktop virtualization, application virtualization, Physical to Virtual migrations (P2V), as well as disaster preparedness and recovery services.
Falling tax revenues, which are straining federal and state IT budgets, and the push for energy-saving technology among public-sector accounts are driving the uptick in demand for virtualization in government.
The Mississippi Department of Information Technology Services has awarded IMCI a three-year contract to deliver virtualization services to state agencies via Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 3585.
Commencing in the fall of 2009, the agreement with IMCI is part of Mississippi’s larger strategy to streamline government operations and to address issues of IT modernization.
IMCI CTO Jim Frost stated, "We are very pleased that the state of Mississippi has recognized IGI’s expertise in the virtualization arena."
The Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) is the first agency planned for server virtualization services through IMCI.
More are expected to follow as the benefits of virtualization become documented locally!
