Stocks decline as US unemployment rate reaches 26-year high; Tr=

NEW YORK (AP) — A dour repor=

Major stock indexes are down more than 2.4 percent in the la=

Trading on the New York Stock Exchange is going on beyond th=

usual 4 p.m. market close until 4:15 p.m. Eastern time in order=
to=20
execute customer orders impacted by system irregularities, an N=

Investors are selling off stocks after a government report s=

The Dow Jones industrials are down 212 points to 8,291; the=

Friday’s =
Close 8
280.74

All in all this week was an=
=20
acceptable week since a Holiday weekend was in play. The week before =
and=20
week after the 4th of July weekend are two of the weeks many use for=
=20
vacations. Next week will be interesting and earnings should start sl=
owly=20
coming into play as July progresses.

The MACD did trigger a sell=
signal=20
this week and the Stochastic is correcting. Currently the chart and=
=20
indicators suggest a weak market ahead but this is short term. Some o=
f=20
your better companies will meet earnings projections thus boosting th=
e=20
markets higher. I still see 8250 has first resistance and 7950 as sec=
ond.=20
The INDU needs to hold above 8000 then bounce back mid month. If not =
it=20
might be a rough summer ahead for investors.

Friday’s =
Close 8438.39

The INDU =
closed down 101.34 at 8438.39. The charts=20
and indicators have weakened up allowing an overbought condition turn=
into=20
a oversold condition. An alarm was set off this week when the MACD=20
signaled a sell. I am a little bearish short term but I understand ma=
rket=20
movement in conjunction with the time of the year. At this time a neg=
ative=20
market could exist until mid July but I don’t see this as a bad thing=
just=20
normal. A perfect set-up would be to see the INDU churn for the next =
two=20
week about where it is currently trading. Also we do have a 4th of Ju=
ly=20
holiday weekend coming up. I am looking for a flat to lower market.

Friday’s Close 1796.52

The Nasdaq finally had it’s red week closing down – 41.70 at 1796.52.=
The=20
chart and indicators are still positive but we need to watch the=20
Stochastic as it comes down. It would be nice to see the markets chur=

awhile until some decent earnings kick in giving some stability to th=
e=20
Nasdaq.

Friday’s Close 1838.22

The Nasdaq closed gr=

week plus 10.75 at 1838.22. The Nasdaq MACD is flat at this time with=
a=20
buy signal still in tact. I am looking for the the Nasdaq market to c=

for the next two weeks. Like the INDU I expect some upward movement t=
oward=20
mid July. Also we do have a 4th of July holiday weekend coming up. I =
am=20
looking for a flat market.
